Gun Hat is a pop rock country band from Chicago, Illinois. Pop like the Crystals and the Kinks, rock like the Ramones and the Who, country like Cash and Parsons. They sound like none of those artists so much as they sound like kids obsessively listening to their records wondering why nothing sounds that good anymore. They are interested in playing two and a half minute songs that break your heart or make it jump for joy. Preferably while you are drinking. Gun Hat is two boys and four girls from various places throughout the Midwest that now call Chicago home. Gun Hat wants you to kick it one time. Gun Hat wants you to lose it. Gun Hat’s first EP, “OK Gun Hat” was released in December of 2008 on kid id records. Their first full length is expected Spring 2010. Gun Hat can also teach your children, get you off the streets, fix your heart, design your life, and fix your science.
